Last week a girl whose dog I had been treating rang me up. Unfortunately, her pet hadn’t pulled thru and had died. But her passing had been simple, fast and light.

She had simply settled in her bed, apparently gone to sleep, and stopped respiring. Understandably, the girl was extraordinarily upset. But by the day after, she was better. This week, a pony I had been treating, was devastated. I’m still mourning, days later and she was never even mine. Over time, I’ve had many pets ‘kindly put to sleep’ by those I believed knew better than I. And I’m able to say that with every one, I mourned for days. Since changing into a homeopath, I now know of homeopathic drugs that not only take away the phobia of approaching death, but the agony of end stage illness, too. If an animal isn’t suffering discomfort or fear, why would I now wish to consider euthanasia, at a tolerant level? Now, it is my custom to provide that relief in hopeless cases, instead of make a last call. To give them a homeopathic drugs that supports them in their decision.
And I haven’t regretted it. But the point to note is that, though I am glaringly miserable to see the animal go, my mourning is of short duration. Usually only one day.
What is going on on? Why do I mourn for days for a horse who’s not even mine, but not for my private animals? I feel it boils down to liberty of preference. As I suspect everybody ( including animals ) selects when we are born, don’t we then have the right to select when we die? If I have decided not to kill an animal, but instead, provide support, so they can select, if and when they die, I have an inner feeling I have done the honest thing.
My body reflects that. If I, or some other person, makes a decision to kill an animal, then I feel a liberty has been violated and therefore the mourning isn’t so straightforward to work thru. Maybe it is a double mourning. I think it needs a shift in consciousness to think this way. And we want to keep shifting and growing and developing.
I know that I used to be much in favor of, what I thought to be, ‘humane euthanasia.’ Homeopathy has changed all that, as it’s got many things in my life. I will not say how I’d feel in all cases, I’m only able to comment on my changing angles with what I have experienced.
But I do believe there is far more to taking a life, even for decent reasons, than we now realize. And I am not at all convinced we should, and anyway. Particularly when we have access to such viable alternatives.

There isn’t any doubt that convictions and opinions concerning the indisputable fact that nobody is given the legal right to take someone’s life.

This sort of behavior isn’t satisfactory as it violates the moral standard of patient care. What’s the use of medical intervention when patients are not given the opportunity to know its predicament in the hands of the attending physician? There is none. The one thing the patient could feel is bafflement as well as the discomfort that he suffered while having such sickness.
All of these scenarios occur in Northwards Territories in Australia and Netherlands because of the legalization of euthanasia in those areas.
